World Cup 2026 Semi-Final Week (July 14): Bellingham and Álvarez Send England and Argentina Into a Blockbuster Final Four
Tuesday, July 14, 2026 — Semi-final week is here. The quarter-finals gave us Jude Bellingham's extra-time heroics in the Miami furnace, Julián Álvarez's 25-yard thunderbolt in Kansas City, and a heavyweight final four:
France,

England and
Argentina. The first semi-final kicks off tonight in Arlington, and the final is set for Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. Here's everything that happened, what's next, and how to follow every score live — on any screen in the house.

Switzerland (a.e.t.) — A tense, controversial quarter-final swung when Breel Embolo was shown a second yellow for simulation in the 72nd minute. Alexis Mac Allister put the champions ahead before Julián Álvarez broke Swiss resistance in the 112th minute with an unstoppable 25-yard rocket into the top corner, and Lautaro Martínez added the third to seal a semi-final against England.
England 2–1
Norway (a.e.t.) — In brutal Miami heat, Andreas Schjelderup gave Norway a 36th-minute lead off Pickford's post. Jude Bellingham answered with a brilliant left-footed equaliser, then pounced on a rebound from Morgan Rogers' drive early in extra time to complete his brace. Erling Haaland was kept almost anonymous — just 21 touches all night.
Spain 2–1
Belgium — Fabián Ruiz opened the scoring in the 30th minute, Charles De Ketelaere levelled for Belgium before half-time, and super-sub Mikel Merino did what he does best: an 88th-minute winner from a rebound to send La Roja into the last four.
France 2–0
Morocco — Kylian Mbappé scored one and set up Ousmane Dembélé for the other as Les Bleus ended Morocco's run in Foxborough, a rematch of the 2022 semi-final with the same outcome.
Switzerland 0–0
Colombia (4–3 pens) — The last round-of-16 tie to finish. After a goalless 120 minutes in Vancouver, Gregor Kobel's crucial save and Ruben Vargas' winning kick sent the Swiss through to their date with Argentina.
